The Duplex with Shield locking system is a robust security system that provides extra protection to all types of storage room doors, metal doors, and fire doors. This additional protection is achieved thanks to its integrated bolt (which protects against lever attacks on the door), its security cylinder (which protects against cylinder breakage), and its front steel shield, which enhances the cylinder's protection by preventing drilling attacks and other break-in attempts. This steel shield is a third level of additional protection that Duplex with Shield incorporates compared to the simple version of the Duplex Locking System.
It is also a discreet system since it is invisible from the outside; it is not apparent that the handle incorporates a steel bolt or latch. The bolt opens and closes with the same turn of the key in the lock, in a single rotation. Therefore, the same key both locks the latch of the door lock and the additional bolt that Duplex with Escudo incorporates.
Why a solution for storage units
The value of the items stored in storage units is increasing more and more, and it is not uncommon for bicycles, skis, surfboards, sports equipment, power tools, or other valuable items to be kept in them.
This leads to an increase in thefts or attempted thefts in storage rooms, so it is advisable to have solutions for their doors that are stronger and more resistant than those provided by default in the construction.
The Duplex Locking System has been designed to enhance the protection of these doors and increase their security, ensuring that storage units remain closed and protected at all times. The protection and advantages that Duplex provides to the doors of storage units can also be applied to all types of metal doors or fire doors at risk of theft or vandalism.
Available options
There are two versions of Duplex with Shield to make it compatible with a large number of doors. Your choice will depend on the handle and cylinder set that needs to be replaced:.
- Reference MMT4724, for 47 mm doors, understood as the distance between the handle and the cylinder axis.
- Reference MMT7224, for a 72 mm door, understood as the distance between the handle and the lock cylinder axis.
These two versions are valid for installation on doors that open both to the left and to the right.
Main Components
Duplex with Shield is formed by the following supplied security elements, all to be used as a complete solution for door reinforcement.
Interior doorknob plus deadbolt:
- Interior handle made of high-strength zamak. With ABS plastic knob and nylon handle with aluminum interior.
- Integrated steel bolt lock. It measures 168 x 18 x 12 mm and opens and closes with the turn of the key.
Exterior plate with anti-drill shield and knob:
- Front steel shield for anti-drilling and anti-snap protection.
- Outdoor plate with built-in knob, made of high-strength zamak with a galvanized steel interior plate.
Security cylinder (lock cylinder):
- Security cylinder 35/12 mm with protection systems:
- Anti-drilling.
- Anti-bumping.
- Anti-picking.
- Anti-snap: with programmed breakage and reinforced bridge.
- The cylinder is supplied with a set of 5 anti-copy security keys.
Installation
Easy to install, no need for professionals. The assembly instructions manual is provided and includes all necessary screws.
Additionally, 2 zamak shims are provided to adapt to different types of door frames. These shims are designed to accommodate the bolt, for situations where it is necessary to bridge the height difference between the door and the wall or frame where the bolt is installed. In this case, it is recommended to use the supplied screws.
It is necessary to take into account the characteristics of the door to check which model is compatible. Check the available options, as it is compatible with doors with locks of 47 or 72 mm, understood as the distance from the handle to the cylinder axis.
