The Duplex locking system is a robust security system that provides extra protection for all types of storage room doors, metal doors, and fire doors. This additional protection is achieved thanks to its integrated bolt (which protects against lever attacks on the door) and its security cylinder, which protects against breaking the lock.
It is also a discreet system since it is invisible from the outside, so you cannot tell from the exterior that the handle incorporates a steel bolt or latch. The bolt opens and closes with the same turn of the key in the lock, in a single turn. Therefore, the same key both locks the latch of the door lock and the additional bolt incorporated by Duplex.
Why a solution for storage rooms
The value of the items stored in storage rooms is increasing, and it is not uncommon for bicycles, skis, surfboards, sports equipment, power tools, or other valuable items to be stored in them.
This leads to an increase in thefts or attempted thefts in storage rooms, so it is advisable to have stronger and more resistant solutions for their doors than those provided by default in construction.
The Duplex Locking System has been designed to reinforce the protection of these doors and increase their security, so that storage rooms remain closed and protected at all times. The protection and advantages that Duplex provides to storage room doors can also be applied to all types of metal doors or fire doors where there is a risk of theft or vandalism.
Available Options
There are two versions of Duplex available to be compatible with a large number of doors. The choice will depend on the handle and cylinder set that needs to be replaced:
- Reference MMT4714, for 47 mm doors, understood as the distance between the handle and the cylinder axis.
- Reference MMT7214, for 72 mm doors, understood as the distance between the handle and the cylinder axis.
These two versions are suitable for installation on doors that open to the left or right.
Main Components
Duplex consists of the following supplied security elements, to be used all together as a complete solution or separately according to customer preferences.
Interior handle plus bolt:
- Interior handle made of high-strength zamak. With ABS plastic knob and nylon handle with aluminum interior.
- Integrated steel bolt (latch). It measures 168 x 18 x 12 mm and opens and closes with the key turn.
Exterior handle:
- In the 47 cm version: exterior handle made of high-strength zamak.
- In the 72 mm version: standard galvanized steel and nylon handle.
- The customer can use the supplied exterior handle or keep their original handle.
Security cylinder:
- 35/12 mm security cylinder with protection systems:
- Anti-drilling.
- Anti-bumping.
- Anti-picking.
- Anti-snap: with programmed breakage and reinforced bridge.
- The cylinder is supplied with a set of 5 anti-copy security keys.
Installation
Easy installation, no need for professionals. The assembly instructions manual is provided and includes all necessary screws.
Also supplied are 2 zamak shims, to adapt to various types of door frames. These shims are designed for the latch housing, for cases where it is necessary to bridge the height difference between the door and the wall or frame where this housing is installed. In that case, it is recommended to use the supplied screws.
It is necessary to consider the characteristics of the door to check which model is compatible. Check the available options, as it is compatible for doors with locks of 47 or 72 mm, understood as the distance from the handle to the cylinder axis.
